Out of a total of 14 entrants in 2024 our readers have voted and selected our top three Furry Friends of Franklin pet photos of 2024 (pictured above).
Messi is our top Furry Friend of the year! . It appears Leap Day proved lucky to this little dog, as his photo appeared in our pages on February 29, 2024.
Messi's owner,Cricelia Calderon of Basin City, shared in the column "This is Messi, our beloved emotional support furry family member. He is named after the famous Argentinian soccer player. Sadly, his life was cut short this month. His 49ers jersey was left ready for him to wear for the Super Bowl game. We will forever be grateful for the joy and love he gave each of us. He will always be our favorite furry friend."
Joining Messi in the top three were Rudy in second place, appearing in our Feb 8 edition. We saw a tie in the votes for third place between our first Furry Friend of the year, Maxx, and our last Furry Friend of the Year, Kevin.
Furry Friends in 2024 leaned towards dogs with the exception of a few cats, chickens, and a Guinea Pig.
